Elongated shallow pit produced group of Iron Age pottery, loom weight and spindle whorl?
In soil above coarse gritted Early Saxon wares including part of cup-lugged bowl and stamped sherd.
Late Neolithic-Early Bronze Age button scraper and flakes also found.

Also a single course of large flints, slightly curved, embedded in coarse reddish soil at base of ploughsoil with some Iron Age sherds.
A. Gregory (NAU) notes September 1988.
The Iron Age sherds are coarseware including perforated lug (possibly vertical) scored jars. The 'PS cup lugged bowl' is not; it is a wide mouthed vessel with vertical perforated lug, possibly Early Saxon but equally possibly Iron Age.
