Summary

A copper alloy seal, dating from the 16th century, bearing the legend 'Depwade in Norfolk', and a motif of a Tudor rose. The seal may have belonged to an official of Depwade Hundred.

Found with metal detecting on north bank of river.
Copper alloy thumb seal ring: device is crowned Tudor rose and legend DEPWADE IN NORFOLKE.
Possibly 16th century from similarity to coins, and perhaps official seal of Hundred of Depwade.
Find said to have been covered in "barnacles" when found.
