Summary

Beechlands is a red brick house with a pantile roof, dated 1744 in black headers on the right hand gable. The building was built in five bays, with two storeys and three dormers. According to the clampirons on the chimney it was restored in 1905, and has an original staircase.

Listing Description excerpt:
"House. Dated in black headers 1744 on right hand gable. Brick. Pantile roof. Rectangular in plan with contemporary continuous outshut and further range to rear. Façade of five bays, two storeys and attic. Rusticated quoins...Central doorcase with brick pilasters...Brick dentil eaves cornice. Kneelered parapet gable with stone ball finials to kneelers. Three dormer sashes...Gable end stacks...
Interior: Open well staircase with alternate twisted and column painted balusters, a pair per tread; ramped handrail; open string with plain tread ends. Six panel doors."

1978. Field Observation.
Visited by E. Rose (NAU).
'Beechlands' (named Bucklands Farm in (S2). 1744. Five bays, two storeys and three dormers. Red brick, rusticated quoins and rustication around window above central doorway with triangular pediment, which (S2) considers later. Restored 1905 according to clampirons on chimney. Said to have original staircase.
In good overall condition but some brickwork needs attention.
