Full Description
Nave 13th century Early English and Perpendicular - Early English round and octagonal pillars, and arches, reused on Perp bases when nave heightened by inserting the higher bases and a clerestory. Fine roof with wallposts on stone head corbels, longitudinal arched braces and hammerbeams. Perp west tower, aisle windows and south porch, but latter contains Early English doorway with 14th century traceried door having an ogee wicket.
Chancel over-restored 1877.
Octagonal carved font. Pulpit 1631. Painted screen dated 1488. Carved benches.
Plate: large paten on foot 1695, cup 1783, paten on foot 1823.

According to cutting in (S2), tower was begun in 1635 but not finished until 1935!

A brass of 1480 reported in 1890 is now lost.

Tom Martin about 1740, calling it 'Thorndham', notes a parvis and says a medieval brass from here was held by a Mr Wynde.

[1] notes a bellframe and bell by Taylors of Loughborough 1865 also containing a medieval bell possibly one of the oldest in Norfolk.

Noted only in passing that the churchyard wall is certainly 19th century but contains very large quantities of reused limestone - presumably from 1870s restoration of church.
