Full Description
Moat like feature claimed by NCM attendant [1].
In fact large, about 50m square, raised area, about 4m from wet ditch on north and east to top, and about 2m high from field on west.
Said by National Trust informant [2] to be site of a tannery.
Visited E. Rose (NAU) 22 March 1978.
Marked on Faden's map 1797 as Tan Office.
P. Wade-Martins (NAU) believes that this is a natural feature and that the Tan Office marked by Faden is on the other side of the road, by the present farm.
E. Rose (NAU) 26 June 1985.
