Full Description
Approximate site of East Bradenham dummy airfield 1939-45 (landing lights only).
See (S1).
Grid reference corrected in 1988 edition of (S1).
E. Rose (NAU), 10 June 1988.
Also known as Saham Grove, or (in error) West Bradenham, there is still apparently confusion over the exact extent of the site. It is believed that the Germans knew about its use as a wooden bomb is said to have been dropped on it. (But this story occurs all over England!)
E. Rose (NLA), 17 May 1993.
(S2) places this in Holme Hale parish at TF 912 070. (S1) is more probably correct, one would think.
E. Rose (NLA) 4 March 1997.
The Holme Hale location is also given for this 'Q'-type decoy airfield by (S3), which refers to it as West Bradenham.
P. Watkins (HES), 18 January 2023.
