Summary

A late 19th century pumping station built in brick and carrstone. The steam engine was constructed in 1877 by a Carlisle firm. The buildings were demolished in the early 1980s, and the engine is now in the Ironbridge Gorge Museum.

Contains steam engine built 1877 by Pratchitt Brothers of Carlisle.
Buildings of brick and carrstone consist of pump house and boiler house.
Under restoration in 1978.
Detailed drawings and photographs in (S1).
After restoration continued, building was demolished and engine given to Ironbridge Gorge Museum.

[1] reports that in fact the building had not been restored and was beyond saving, and no other museum would take the restored engine.
