Summary

A medieval timber framed building, originally constructed in 1450 in Ware, Hertfordshire. In 1970 it was dismantled and transported piece by piece to Wells, where the owner spent the next twenty years reconstructing it.

Southwest corner of Buttlands, by Water Pit Lane.
Built 1450, removed from Ware, Hertfordshire to this site and under reconstruction 1978.
Photographs show a timber framed house on a reconstructed brick ground floor.

Site visited and grid reference corrected.
Timber framed part of house had tarred cloth nailed over it so not much was visible. Not yet completed.
