Summary

Fragments of medieval pottery were found in a trial trench excavated by the NAU in 1970. A Roman coin was found in 1979.

During excavations on site NHER 1016, trial trench dug here in garden produced large quantities of Grimston Ware.
Information from D. Edwards (NAU) 1978.

1979. Approximately same site (now garden of Cotswolds, Leziate Drive).
Roman coin; 3AE Constantinopolis (AD 330 to 348).
Reverse unclear, possibly emperor holding spear in right hand and leaning on shield left.
Identified by A. K. Taylor (NCM).
