Summary

Small ring ditches visible on air photographs were drainage ditches dug around gun emplacements during World War Two. The emplacements formed part of a World War Two searchlight battery (NHER 11883).

Small ring ditches visible on air photograph south of main ring ditch (NHER 11883) are in fact drainage ditches around 1939 to 1945 gun positions according to Charles Green (NCM) 1955.

The gun emplacements described above were part of a World War Two searchlight battery (NHER 11883) and have been more fully recorded as part of that site.
