Map

Brick and stone substantial foundations found by river. Some yards north of 'boat house' marked on (S1) but apparently
not the same.
E. Rose (NAU), 10 July 1978.

26 July 1978. Visit.
At a more recent date a wooden boat house was built on this site, of which posts remain.
E. Rose (NAU), 26 July 1978.

At some unknown date (not on any map) a cut has been made between the angle of the dyke and the River Thet, and this has broken through a large floor of rough concrete formed of large flints joined together. The water has now undercut this exposing an iron rod. Modern bricks on top were connected with the boathouse but the floor is older - buried deep on either side of cut, extending over large area. Date? Purpose?
