Summary

In 1977 a Palaeolithic handaxe and a collection of Neolithic flint flakes were found in the garden of this property, along with two sherds of Late Saxon Thetford Ware pottery. A number of additional worked flints were found in 2011, including a second Palaeolithic handaxe and a blade-like flake of possible Mesolithic/Early Neolithic date.

Found on surface in garden:
1 Palaeolithic small flint hand-axe, slightly rolled. Noted in (S1), (S2) and (S3).
Flint flake, worked flakes, scrapers and arrowheads.
2 Late Saxon Thetford-type Ware rim sherds. In soil near east boundary.

1 Lower Palaeolithic small handaxe made on pebble. See drawing (S5). It has been confirmed with the finder that this is a different and more recent find to that reported in 1977.
1 ?Mesolithic/Early Neolithic blade-like flake.
