Summary

A fine stone statue of a lion on a rendered brick pedestal which is inscribed with the words 'I was erected 1909 by T. A. Cooke Esq. to guard Sennowe Hall'.

Lion. Base inscribed 'ERECTED by THOMAS COOKE to GUARD Sennowe PARK'.
Very fine. Late 18th century?
P. Wade-Martins (NAU).

23 November 1978.
Inscription really reads 'I was erected 1909 by T. A. Cooke Esq. To guard Sennowe Hall'.
Lion has his foot on a ball and faces north towards Hall. Balls also at corners of base.
Kept in good condition.
Is a relative of lions on terrace of hall.
