Summary

The arches of a brick kiln remain at this site and numerous finds of early 19th century land drain pipe suggest these may have been manufactured here.

Arches of brick kiln remain under chestnut tree. Information from owner of cottage to north.

1986.
Owner of Brick Kiln Farmhouse, reports large numbers of land drain pipes found all over gardens etc in digging. Example seen by NAU - early 19th century type, as made by early models of extruding machines with seam on each side but very irregular. Suggests made at brickworks?
