Full Description
11 April 1979. Visited by E. Rose (NAU).
Moat with traces of western enclosure.
Shown on Ordnance Survey and also on 1843 tithe map where it is named as moat.
E. Rose (NAU) 11 April 1979.
Apparently still extant, but even at this time of year densely overgrown by brushwood and virtually impenetrable. Moat 2-3m wide, 0.75-1m deep. Banks support scrub and mature trees. Western arm was cleaned out in 1983 to a depth of some 61cm (2ft).
H. Paterson (NLA) 18 November 1996.
February 2010. Norfolk NMP.
Overgrown moat visible on aerial photographs (S1), centred on TL 9998 9232, but not mapped as all features visible are represented on the Ordnance survey map. Earthworks in the vicinity have been mapped and recorded as NHER 53402.
E. Bales (NMP), 10 February 2010.
