A windmill is marked at this location on the 1841 tithe map (S2) as well as Faden's 1797 map of Norfolk (S1). The windmill was first recorded in 1779. An informant has stated that it was last used in 1857 and demolished in 1859.

The location of this mill has been corrected based on the rectified historic maps. The depiction on the tithe map shows that this was a post-mill. The first edition six inch to the mile Ordnance Survey map of the 1880s shows a cross shaped structure within an enclosure on Church Hill Ccommon suggesting that the base of the mill may still have survived at that date (S3).
