Full Description
'On Mr Allison's land, 50 or 70 years before 1829, west side of road to Guist, labourers making a clay pit found urns and coins'.

1839 Tithe map (with 1844 assessment) marks the field at grid reference as 'Claypits' tenanted by Mr Allison from Lord Sondes. It is the only field tenanted by him that abuts on west side of Guist road as stated having such a name.
