Summary

During 1978-79 a number of stray finds were found in the garden here. Objects recovered included a Neolithic flaked and polished flint axehead, a Late Saxon pottery sherd and a German lava millstone of possible post medieval date.

1978? In garden.
Found 0.6-0.9m (2-3ft) deep in digging hole.
Chipped and polished flint axe, light and dark grey.

Seen KLM, 16 October 1978.

11 November 1978. Found in digging pit.
Also topstone of small millstone, 34cm diameter.
German lava, iron bar (now gone) across centre hole, identations for four metal bars (one survives).

March 1979. Found in digging bungalow foundations.
Thetford-type Grimston ware including thumb-pressed rim to storage jar.
(This should read, Grimston-type Thetford - E. Rose (NAU)).

Also late Grimston bowl sherds with internal green glaze.
