NHER 14182 (Cropmark and Earthwork record) - Cropmarks of undated linear features

Three linear features are visible as cropmarks on NLA aerial photographs from 1977 (S1), 1974 (S2), and 1998 (S3) and on RAF aerial photographs from 1946 (S4). These features are all aligned approximately northwest to southeast and are centred on TF9426 4125. The central linear is the longest, at about 75m long, and runs from TF9424 4128 to TF9428 4121. The second linear, located about 5m to the southwest of the central linear, is parallel to it and is about 40m in length. The third linear is shorter, about 20m long and is located about 10m to the northeast of the central linear, and it is on a slightly different alignment.
The date and origin of these features are uncertain. There is a possibility that they are a further part of 18th century garden works (see NHER 14181 and NHER 1843) or drainage. There is also the potential for them to be related to the nearby Roman settlement site of NHER 1826.
