Map

Central columned porch with window over: to each side, two bays slightly projecting with rusticated long-and-short brick quoins. Shaped gable on south. Painted over but brickwork seems late 17th century, befitting the style (except porch, later). However on north another two bays, level with projecting section, beyond quoins, also with shaped gable - built to match south, or 'moved'? French windows with elaborate fanlight in this section. Modern Tuscan colonnade (1972) on south. Chimneys are all the same, later additions.
E. Rose (NAU), 23 November 1978.

(S1) believes north extension is a contemporary feature. States fanlight is 19th century reused above modern doors.
(Owners 1999 say in 1960s)
See (S2).

Stephen Heywood (NCC) has discovered an early 20th century photograph showing the columned porch not there, a hood being over the door instead. This is clearly therefore a modern or reset feature.
E. Rose (NLA), 10 December 1997.
