NHER 14275 (Find Spot record) - Multi-period finds

30 March 1976. Fieldwalking.
Examination of bypass route by [1] and [2]:
Loam field with crop.
'Large amounts of pottery' reported to come up in ploughing.
Context 1.
Medieval cooking pot sherd; oxidised strap handle; basalt ware teapot lid.

Context 2.
Flint tool and stoneware sherd.

Context 3.
Nineteen glazed and unglazed sherds 13th to 15th/16th centuries including only one normal lead glazed Grimston ware.

Context 4.
13th/14th century cooking pot rim, one medieval grey sherd, one medieval oxidised sherd.
All these are at southeast end of area marked.

At northwest end.
Context 5.
Five crude flint tools and a possible Thetford-type ware sherd, plus brown glazed post medieval sherd and grey roof
tile.

Context 6 is [2]'s finds, over all of southeast area.
Ten medieval coarseware sherds, six medieval glazed, six late medieval/post medieval glazed, four stoneware, four 18th to 19th century slipware, pipe clay figurine of infant in shell surround, bronze button, strip and cap-like perforated
object.

Late Saxon type ware sherds (rims); medieval sherds. Stoneware base sherd. Two 14th century bronze strap ends and medieval bronze attachment stud with loop, from belt fitting.
