Summary

This timber framed house stands three storeys tall and has a thatched roof. It has an offcentre chimneystack and a gable chimneystack. Inside, the main room has a spine beam and bridging beam in front of the chimneystack. The cross passage between the main room and the room with the gable chimneystack now contains an entrance lobby and staircase. Although the chimneys are 19th century in date the house is probably of 16th/17th century date.

Architects plans 1996 in file show that building has an offcentre chimneystack and a gable chimneystack at the other end. Main room has spine beam and bridging beam in front of chimneystack. Cross passage between main room and room with gable stack now contains entrance lobby and staircase.
Catslide at rear which listing takes to be original; it dates house to 17th century.

South Norfolk District Council confirm that the timber framed part of the outshut is original, which is very unusual. Further plans 2002 in file; applicants asked to amend proposals to preserve outshut.
