Summary

Fieldwalking here in 1978 and 1984 recovered a Palaeolithic flint handaxe, a Neolithic flint borer and a number of undatable prehistoric flint flakes and blades.

From south side of field, ploughed:
Undatable prehistoric worked flints. Mostly waste flakes, but some back blades from prepared core in light grey flint.

1984. Fieldwalking.
1 Palaeolithic flint handaxe. A good example of an Acheulean handaxe. See sketch (S2).
1 Neolithic borer. Large primary flint flake made into boring tool by two notches.
Identified by J. J. Wymer (NAU) 14 August 1984 and compiled by W. Milligan (NCM) 15 August 1984.
