Kiln is in adjacent garden but member of the public [3] would not allow access, though he confirmed it was there.
He claimed there were other lime kilns at TG 1761 1241 but member of the public [4] denied this, saying it was only a brickearth pit with barge cut into it.

Latter information was incorrect - see NHER 16677 of location of second lime kiln.

Site marked on Tithe map 1839 (S2) however also marked on 1ins O.S. map 1838 (S3) as just "Quarry".

K. Powell (HES), 1 July 2013.

24 July 2013.
Visit to the lime kilns with the owner. Kilns both in very good condition with some deterioration. The kilns are below ground within a garden location in the wider setting of an abandoned quarry. The roofs of the kilns have scrub and trees growing on them. The western most kiln is all brick built, whereas the eastern most structure has a flint base. Some original flooring and iron artefacts are visible in the latter.
