Full Description
About 1970. Minature urn of food vessel affinities.
Drawn NCM by T. Clough (copy (S1) in file) and recorded simply as '[1] Old Horse Shoes, Gressenhall, Old Hunstanton'.
P. Wade-Martins (NAU) records that the findspot was 'in a water main trench close to the old fire station at Old Hunstanton' and was found by an employee of informant, now living in Bedfordshire. However enquiries at post offices in area elicited information that there is no fire station (or ever has been) in Old Hunstanton, or any old fire station in New Hunstanton.
A. Lawson (NAU) therefore has located the find by the existing fire station in New Hunstanton.

P. Wade-Martins (NAU) now says the 'old' in 'old fire station' was a mistake.
R. Rickett (NAU) states informant told him that the findspot was 'between the fire station and the school'. If this latter point is correct, then the find could indeed be from the parish of Old Hunstanton; but this is some way away from where A. Lawson (NAU) has marked the findspot.
