Summary

According to Faden's map of 1797 a drainage pump once stood at this location. Fieldwalking here in 1987 recovered a couple of prehistoric flints and a sherd belonging to a Roman mortarium.

3 December 1987. Context 1, scatter over field. Fenland fieldwalking, good conditions, weathered soil, beans.
Couple of flints and an undated sherd. Site SRY AG.
Sherd identified as Roman mortarium.
Finds held by NCM.
