Summary

A medieval building platform and a possible ramp-like causeway and part of a medieval ditch or toft boundary are visible as earthworks from field visits and visible on visualised lidar data. The earthworks have been interpreted as the possible site of the medieval manor of Sayes. The site is associated with two other areas of medieval settlement earthworks, NHER 14107 and NHER 14118.

Earthworks. L-shaped building platform with approach ramp? by southwest corner of churchyard. To west of this parallel ditches of road or toft boundary.

Arable. The low earthworks were evident in pasture next to the church and 200m east of Routes 5 and 6.

The above earthworks are also visible on visualised lidar data from a survey flown in 2021 (S4). As the lidar was flown relatively recently, it is likely that the features still survive as earthworks.
