Summary

In 1979 it was noted that a stone window with Y-tracery had been set into an 18th century brick wall on this site. Although it may be 13th century, it was in very good condition which may indiate a 17th century date. It is thought to have originally come from a church.

Location

Civil Parish WALPOLE, WEST NORFOLK, NORFOLK

Map

Window, set in 18th century brick wall of garden or enclosure north-east of church. Stone, Y-tracery, but very sharp and unweathered. Is it 17th century rather than late 13th century?
In any case obviously reset here and presumably from church.
Seen by E. Rose (NAU), 27 February 1979.
