Summary

According to 19th century Ordnance Survey maps a lime kiln and chalk pit existed here. The chalk pit is shown on Faden's map of 1797 so it is possible that these features were here since at least the late 18th century.

Limekiln Plantation and chalk pit (OS).
Lime kiln shown on Ordnance Survey first edition 1in, 1836, and 1891 6in.
Perhaps there since 18th century as Faden, 1797, (S1) marks a chalk pit.
No traces remain at all. See (S2).
