Summary

Fieldwalking and metal-detecting between 1979 and 2018 recovered Middle Saxon, Late Saxon, medieval, and post-medieval pottery sherds, medieval brick; an undated copper alloy needle, medieval buckles and a book clasp, and a medieval/post-medieval copper alloy vessel fragment.

Full Description

April 1979. Arable field, all over except south end. [1].
2 distinct concentrations of flint nodules and post medieval building material.
Ipswich ware bodysherd, 9 Thetford-type ware rims, 95 medieval coarse and glazed including some Grimston ware.
Small quantity late medieval/Post medieval glazed ware.
Basalt ware lid rim.
Medieval brick fragment.

Upright lug handle with 3 thumbprints.
Thetford-type but medieval fabric; Late Saxon/Medieval.
