Full Description
Exact site unknown.
According to N. Batcock (S1) Doughton had a church dedicated to St Mary, which in some records is confused with St Peter's at Dunton, NHER 2004.
The church is described as a chapel in 1325, which may suggest that the church was already diminishing in status.
See (S1).
Blomefield (S2) states that Doughton or Doketon was a hamlet of Dunton in Domesday.
E. Rose (NAU) 15 May 1979.
