Full Description
1979. Stray Find.
In southern of two pits in field.
Stone macehead with hour glass perforation. Obviously used as hammer, with battering on both ends.
Probably what would now be commonly described as a pebble mace. This type of prehistoric mace is not closely datable, having been found in both Mesolithic and later prehistoric contexts.
