Civil Parish EARLHAM, NORWICH, NORFOLK

Map

April 1979. Found with metal detector. Found at location [1].
Three Fel. Temp. Rep. coins of Constantius II.
One Falling horseman type 2 mm PLG.
One falling horseman type 3/4 mm not visible.
One not identified closely LUG and R with female walking left and carrying wreath.

In fact this 'scoophole' is shown as Old Marl Pit on the 1886 25in Ordnance Survey and the mound was merely contoured when the University was laid out. Whether this makes the find of Roman coins more or less probable is a question.
