Summary
Fieldwalking in 1978 to 1979 in advance of construction of a bypass road recovered a number of prehistoric flints and pot boilers, medieval and post medieval pottery sherds, medieval quern fragments and post medieval roof tiles.

Full Description
1978-9. Prestons Field (north-east part only). Found in fieldwalking Swaffham bypass.
Five burnt flints. Seventeen flint flakes. One oyster shell. One lava quern. Five medieval coarseware sherds. Five post medieval sherds. One stoneware sherd. One post medieval glass fragment. Three clay pipe stems. One pantile.
