Summary

This is the approximate site of the Raveningham Drainage Mill marked on Faden's 1797 map. The construction of the New Cut and railway line may have necessitated rebuilding the mill. The mill, latterly with attached engine house is believed to have survived until the mid 20th century.

Site of drainage windmill and later adjacent steam engine house. Formerly in a detached part of Raveningham parish.
A mill on this approximate site is marked 'Raveningham Drain Mill' on (S1). It is marked as 'Barkers or Raveningham Mill' on (S2). After the construction of the New Cut, a mill is marked on the south side of the Cut on (S3). It is marked on (S4) and (S5) and is believed to have survived until the mid 20th century.

Demolished - only corrugated iron sheds remain.
It seems quite possible that this is the 'Raveningham Drain Mill' marked by (S1), that being marked as far enough away from the Waveney for the New Cut to have got in between.
