Summary

The site of a disused brickworks and a wind pump are marked on a Ordnance Survey map of 1883. The clay extraction pits associated with the brickworks are visible as water-filled pools on aerial photographs from 1944.

THIS CENTRAL GRID REFERENCE OF THIS SITE HAS BEEN ALTERED FROM TM 4522 9882 TO TM 4521 9878.

The clay extraction pits associated with the brickworks are visible as water-filled pools on aerial photographs from 1944 (S2). The original extent of site, which was based on the map evidence, has been extended to the south to include a second extraction area at TM 4519 9869, which is visible on aerial photographs.
