Full Description
Roosting Hills sand and gravel pit.
21 September 1979. Strip and Record ?.
An area of topsoil was stripped prior to gravel extraction. The surface was well washed and badly smeared. No features were recorded, but two flint flakes, one flint core, and one bodysherd were found. The bodysherd is stoneware with external brown and internal green glaze, dated to the 18th-19th century.

22 November 1983. Field Visit.
Working quarry visited by J. J. Wymer. Several bones recovered by workmen, collected off screening plant, when gravel near river was being dug. Work at present on higher ground up slope towards B1110. Medium to coarse gravel exposed with a silt/sand matrix.
