Map

Tudor Cottage (formerly Tudor House).

October 1979.
Single storey (with dormers) three bay cottage, remarkably with late Elizabethan or Jacobean pediments over the windows and a gabled brick central porch. Hoodmoulded slit window by door probably a later insertion. Apparently the same as 32 Langham Road, mentioned as about 1625 with later fireplace in (S1). The slit window lights a staircase off a central screens passage and so is probably original.
E. Rose (NAU), 21 February 1983.

(S2) adds a chamfered bressumer with lambstongue stops; 18th century roof with staggered chamfered purlins; two blocked attic lights. Early 17th century. Pantile roof.
E. Rose (NAU), 7 October 1998.

March 2007. Building survey.
It was built as a free-standing building in about 1620 and was re-roofed during the first half of the 18th century. It has undergone no other major alteration since it was built. It is now semi-detached with a 20th-century building of similar fabric which replaces an earlier building indicated on early maps. It has a small front garden with a disused well house and sheds. There is a large garden to the rear.
See (S3).
J. Allen (NLA), 3 May 2007.

March 2008. Proposed cottage
Proposal to errect a small cottage in the garden of the existing property, and to remove the lean-to on the existing gable. A new driveway and of-road parking would also be added.
See (S4) for further information
