Full Description
27 March 1979. Found in fieldwalking Narborough bypass line. On surface of field sown with winter wheat.
Divided into three sections.
Context 1 at 7567 1324 to 7545 1355.
5 scrapers, 2 retouched flakes, 16 flakes, 8 burnt flints, other lumps.
3 glazed Grimston sherds, 3 medieval? sherds, 1 post medieval sherd, 3 stoneware. Glass, clay pipe and pewter? fragment.
Context 2 at 7545 1355 to 7533 1348.
25 burnt flints, 1 scraper, 1 notch, 1 retouched flake, 15 flakes.
Ipswich ware rim (at 7536 1346) and another scrap.
2 medieval sherds, 1 post medieval sherd.
Odd iron, lead, glass and clay pipe.
Context 3 at 7533 1348 to 7528 1350.
Burnt flint, gun flint and 4 flakes.
Glazed Grimston sherd, 3 stoneware (one Westerwald?), slag.
