Summary

Fieldwalking in 1983 to 1984 in advance of road construction work recovered a scatter of Roman, medieval and post medieval pottery sherds in the area around a cropmark site (NHER 38298).

Winter 1983-4. Found on surface of ploughed field while walking strips along proposed west and east routes of bypass in bypass fieldwalking. (field numbered 100, strips A and B respectively for purposes of survey).
Found on cropmark site (NHER 38298) and north edge of field as far as wood, which was not walked, a scatter of Roman, medieval and post medieval sherds.
