Summary

Prehistoric flint flakes, Saxon, medieval and post medieval pottery fragments, together with post medieval clay pipe stems and a fragment of undated daub, were found on the supposed site of a manor house in 1979.

October 1979. Around Maltoffice Cottages.
Two small dark grey flint flakes. One rim Thetford ware and daub fragment with wattle marks (date?).
Identified by W. Milligan (NCM).
Twenty one sherds medieval, four sherds late medieval/Transitional.
Five post medieval sherds, three stoneware, two clay pipe stems, heel iron. Also large quantity recent sherds.
This is said by informant [1] to be the site of a manor house.
