House; upper storey added 1912, divided into two cottages 19th century.
Original work seems to be a 16th to 17th century hall house, of unusual plan perhaps explained by a north facing door.
A photograph in (S1) shows a 17th to 18th century house, now demolished attached on southwest, said locally to have been an inn.
See (S2) in file.

October 1979. Norwich Survey.

May 2010. Mapping corrected.
The building was originally mapped to the north of the present location in the gardens of nos 40 and 38 West End. It is likely that nos 25 and 27 have been joined together to form a single structure now marked as 25 on the base mapping.
S. Howard (NLA), 4 May 2010.
