Summary

The cropmark of a ring ditch, perhaps of Bronze Age date, was identified at this location on aerial photographs taken in 1973. More recent aerial photographic work undertaken as part of the Norfolk National Mapping Programme has failed to confirm the existence of a ring ditch here.

The ring ditch described above has not been identified on the consulted aerial photographs of the site, including the CUCAP aerial photograph on which it was originally recognised (S1). There are a number of curvilinear cropmarks visible in this area which are probably of geological or recent agricultural origin, and the ‘ring ditch’ may equate to one of these.
