Full Description
Site of Hassingham Hall.
Marked on Faden's map 1797.
E. Rose (NAU) 20 December 1979.
Tithe Award map. Bryant's map and later maps all mark as a farm - Waters Farm on tithe - rather than a hall. Site is now a garden next to a 1960s farmhouse; barn to rear has been rebuilt though on the position of that on the tithe map.
First edition Ordnance Survey 25in map 1883 marks site as Hasingham (sic) Farm, with house and barn on site of present house and barn, but another house divided into two, to northeast.
See copy in file.
J. Allen (NLA) 16 February 1999.
18 August 1999. Observation of construction works of west side of farmyard produced no pre-modern finds or features.
Report in file.
E. Rose (NLA) 9 September 1999.
