Summary

Metal detecting has recovered a variety of objects dating from the Roman and post medieval periods. These include over forty Roman coins, fragments of Roman pottery and a bronze stamp for leather or pottery. The number of finds made here and the presence of pottery suggests this might be an area of Roman settlement, although this needs further investigation.
