Summary

In 1961 or before a complete 14th century jug was recovered from this site. Fieldwalking in 1987 recovered a number of medieval pottery sherds, and suggested that a possible medieval site may be covered by the modern road. Metal detecting in 1989 recovered a medieval copper alloy key with a hollow stem and elaborate wards.
