Summary

In 1978 a selection of post medieval pottery pieces (various forms and fabrics) were recovered. The majority were earthenware vessels with glazing or slip decoration.

February 1978. 'On a field belonging to Little Abbey Farm' after digging a dyke. Farmhouse at [1].
A selection of post medieval pottery pieces were recovered. These included part of the base of a jug(?) approximately 9cm in diameter, black metallic glazed earthenware, part of a bowl rim (approximately 38cm diameter) made from slipware trailed zigzag brown on cream earthenware. Part of pot rim, (approximately 20cm diameter) made from red earthenware with metallic coating and remains of mottled green glaze on both sides.
