Full Description
Pre October 1979. Stray Find.
Exact site unknown, described as "surface finds, Narborough area". All now held by King's Lynn Museum:
1 ?handaxe fragment and 1 discoidal palaeolith.
Roman pottery sherds including greyware, black burnished ware, reddish-grey and ?amphora (KILLM : 1979.228.5).
2 medieval strap handles of glazed Grimston ware (one with grooves, one with single depression).
1 undated iron latch key (KILLM : 1979.228.1).
R. Trett (KLM). Information from (S1).
The KLM's unprovenanced collection of Narborough finds described above actually includes four flint objects:
1 fragmentary flint axe (KILLM : 1979.228.2). This is presumably the ?handaxe fragment noted on (S1).
1 disc-shaped chopped (KILLM : 1979.228).
1 adze (KILLM : 1979.228.3).
1 disc-shaped implement (KILLM : 1979.228.4). Probably the "discoidal Palaeolith" noted on (S1).
Amended by P. Watkins (HES), 4 June 2013.
