Map

1979. In plantation approximately 206m (225 paces) west of track to Thorpe Farm, 48m (53 paces) north of fire break.
Long mound, tree covered.
Reported by Forestry Commission.
26m long, 10m maximum width, 1.2m high, orientated east to west with straight south side and curved north side.

January 1980. Visit.
Unlikely as long barrow, possibly, warren, clapper or butts.
A. Lawson (NAU), January 1980.

Only one tree now on this, not of great age; otherwise grassed over. West end tapers out and is crossed by path from camp site. Wood around thinned showing how abrupt mound is from flat ground; very crested. Height nearer 1.75m in centre. Very likely clapper or pillow mound.
E. Rose (NAU), 7 April 1987.

(S1) shows this area to be arable, making even more unlikely that this mound of earth is a pillow mound. Probably a later dump of material immediately pre-afforestation.
K. Sussams (SAU), 2 January 1996.
