Summary

Nos 24, 26 and 28 area range of shops and flats constructed around 1680, with various 18th and 19th century alterations. This two storey range has a rendered and whitewashed brick façade, and a roof of black glazed pantiles. Three doorways punctuate ground floor and define the separate properties.

Listing Description excerpt:
"Range of shops and flats. c.1680 with various 18th- and 19th-century alterations, particularly to fenestration. Brick, rendered and whitewashed to façade. Roof of black glazed pantiles. Two storeys and dormer attic. Three doorways punctuate ground floor and define separate properties. No 24 has three bays...No 26 has two bays. No 28 in three bays...Continuous bell-based roof carrying two gabled dormers lit through 18th-century casements with glazing bars and enriched with 19th-century decorative bargeboards. Central stack on rear roof slope. South gable is shaped to the street but swept into outshut gable to rear. Internal stack rises out of its apex.
Interior - Not fully inspected. Ground floor bridging beams, particularly to centre have plaster decoration. Remainder of interior probably of interest."

5 March 1980. Visited by E. Rose.
South gable wall late 17th century in chequered brickwork. Shaped gable with original central chimney. ST in clamp irons.
Facade early 19th century, unremarkable, possible underbuilt jetty. Later rear extension shows difference between its brickwork and that of gable wall.
